Petten, Netherlands, September 6-8, 2006
The CBBI-14 workshop (the 14th International Workshop on Ceramic Breeder Blanket Interactions) will be held in Petten on September 6-8, 2006.
NRG (Nuclear Research and consultancy Group)
We will give a presentation on the title of “Thermo-mechanical Modelling of Ceramics Breeder Pebble Beds in Fusion Blankets and its Application in HELICA Mock-up”. It will be the first time for me to visit Netherlands… I have just discussed the results with my boss who will be absent of the meeting, and he seems satisfying with the outputs of the analysis. The generalized plane strain elements (GPE), instead of 3-d elements are used in the current model. For numerical analysis, the GPE models are sufficient for these kinds of problems, while, maybe, the experimental guys would have many arguments on this. But I prepared many convincing reasons to “fight-back”.
Still, I have much work to do in the next coming weeks.
It will take more than 6 hours to reach Petten form Karlsruhe, and with changing 3-4 times of different trains. Hope nothing will be out of schedule, otherwise…
